For the Love of Alpacas

It's All About the Animals

As many alpaca owners have experienced, we fell in love at first sight. Looking through a magazine, my wife Marty was enchanted by a photo of an alpaca. In an instant we knew that we wanted to raise these delightful animals. In 1998, Mountain Meadows' herd began with two bred females. Now, our Huacayas reward us daily with the pleasures of life with Alpacas.

Services

We offer alpacas for sale, herdsire service, shearing and agistment. Our shop, The Peaks Alpaca Shop in nearby Forest, Virginia, features alpaca-related and alpaca finished products.

Pacifico, son of Invincible.

Pacifico, born May 2006.

New Cria

Pacifico ia a "chip off the old block". His sire is the "Elite Alpaca" herdsire, Invincible, who was the white male champion at the 2003 Alpaca Futurity. Invincible's third year histogram read 17.2, 3.7, 21.5, and 0.6.

Pacifico, at just 5 months, seems destined to follow in his sire's footsteps. He is a beautiful beige color with soft, crimpy fleece and wonderful coverage. See him in the show ring in the spring.

Welcome to Mountain Meadows

Sunset Hill Seabiscuit is now one of our herdsires. He has champion lineage and dense bay black fleece, and has won Champion and Blue Ribbon awards.

Mountain Meadows Alpaca Farm

Our small farm is located in Goode, Virginia, to the northeast of Bedford. In addition to our alpacas, residents include a livestock watchdog, Reina, a watch-llama named Hazel, a barn cat, and assorted indoor cats and dogs. We invite you to visit our farm and allow us to introduce our wonderful alpacas to you.

Tread Lightly

Alpaca's feet are padded and they don't damage the turf as they snack.
